question about sleeping habits

Is it strange that my chameleon goes to his sleeping spot a couple of hours before lights go out? He doesn't go to sleep, just chills there as if he's waiting for me to turn the lights off. Should I shorten the time his lights are on? Right now he's on 12 hrs on/12 hrs off.

My veiled does that. I would say it's normal, as long as he's not sleeping. If it's anywhere above 2 hours before bedtime, I would be worried though.

I thought my Ambanja was simply adjusted to the lights from the Exotic Pet Store where I bought him. Up and basking by 8:00 AM and in his sleeping spot by 5:45 then sound asleep by 6:00 PM.

These are the normal store hours.

I've had him for 2 months and he still has this same habit. He is an early bird to say the least!

Yeah my veiled will also do that some nights and other nights will not. Guess it depends on how they are feeling that day because when she does do it, she finds a good perch and just chills for about an hour then I turn out the light and she is out in like 5 minutes lol

My guy gets himself settled a couple of hours before lights out too. Usually clinging to his umbrella plant in his pyjama colours, just watching the world go by. I wondered if it's a way to wind down his metabolism ready for sleep
