Question on lights

I have a 18x18x36 enclosure for my juvenile chameleon and a basking spot around a foot away from the basking lights to prevent burns. Would this work okay for a basking light? I've heard it gives them extra calcium?

It does not give them extra calcium. What species? This wattage might be a bit hot for that size, but it depends on climate. I recommend to get a linear UVB and get a separate basking bulb.

Veiled's are pretty cool. Make sure that if you get a female that you have a laybin for her.
Deffinetly, I rescued a veiled cham from a friend who didn't give her any calcium, only fed meal worms, the lights were the incorrect ones and the enclosure was so unstable she fell and broke her leg, we took her in and found out that she had MBD and she was egg bound. We tried our best with vet care too but she was so far gone that she was just in pain every day. She ended up being put down. She fought hard in her last days but the vet said she was just to weak to lay the eggs :(

Good thing you are doing your research.

Probably end up being too hot, only one way to tell though plug in and measure temps...

If tempos are too hot move the bulb further from the cage...

Thank you! Tried it out and it actually seems perfect? Still going to do more research before I fully install it ;)
