Questions about juvenile panther!

So my baby is almost 8 months old and doing very well, thanks to this forum for helping me since I got him at just 5 weeks old. Now that he is getting older, I have more questions. I was wondering how the temperature and humidity should be now that he's older. I feed him Phoenix worms & small crickets every day, and he eats a lot! How much should he be eating of each, I'm worried about over feeding.

Also what lighting is best at this age? Is it any different than as a baby?

Thanks for any advice you might have about juvenile male panthers! This is my first panther and want to make sure I'm doing everything right!

I would increase the size of crickets. At 8 months he should easily be able to eat 1/2 - 3/4 crickets no problem. Also at 8 months you can't really over feed, when he gets to a year old I would start thinking about cutting back if he is still eating a ton. For now 8-10 medium size crickets should be just fine.

Also, I believe Phoenix works contain a good deal of fat so not sure if I would recommend feeding him them everyday. Use those more as a treat. If you want to feed worms everyday I would look into Silkworms.

You may be thinking of wax worms, which are the worms high in fat, not Phoenix worms. They are good feeders, as are the silkworms that you mentioned. Hornworms are good too, and superworms once a week. I start cutting back to feeding once every other day around the 1 year mark, when his growing is mostly done. Good luck with him!
