So I can honestly say I bought a chameleon not knowing a thing about them. Over time I learned a lot but I’m still having issues with my humidity. I finally got it to a high 50! Is that good? Or bad?
When I mist him the humidity goes up about 20% making it 70% sometimes 75-80%. But them it drops right back down to 50 sometimes Lower! I went out and bought a humidifier today, will this help me or no?

50-70 is perfect. You want the humidity to swing. The humidifier might cause more problems if not cleaned constantly. I wouldn't use it for your situation. I assume you have a veiled or panther? Remember, don't sacrifice good air exchange for humidity if it isn't necessary.

I actually have a veiled chameleon; when I woke up this morning the humidity was pretty good after his light came on as well as after getting his misting. He is situated and he no has everything he needs.
He eats out of my hand just fine, no issues there. humitdy is like my main issue here

Do you have any live plants in there. It looks great but live safe plants help with humidity and veilds like to munch on them. Pothos is safe and the easiest to grow.

No I do not have any live plants in there yet! I’m going to get a few once I get paid.
What plants would you say are safe for them to have in there cage; I heard Pothos are very popular.

Wandering jew, pothos, schefflera, and umbrella plants are all hardy great starting plants. There's tons more out there though.

Alright thanks!!! I know I’m asking a lot of questions. How would you go about keeping the bottom of his cage dry? I heard it’s best to not have it flood. Like some sort of drain system or like laying down newspaper or paper towel... right now I have the felt Moss/grass the cage came with but it gets so wet!

I use paper towels and news paper :)

Humidifier is handy for (winter) days when the air can become very dry so it's definitely not a waste of money if you're in such a place.
Regular misting 9/10 times should provide sufficient humidity during the day, during the night humidity will rise usually as the temperatures drop...
Don't measure your humidity under or near the basking spot because it will always be lower than in the ambient parts of the enclosure.

To keep the bottom of the enclosure wet I'd just put a bin under it to collect water and drill a hole in the bottom of the enclosure so water can run out into the bin.

Okay! Thank you! Whenever I mist the humidity increases rapidly! @ what spot would you consider putting the meter that isn’t by the basking spot? Like Hanging in the enclosure somewhere? Because I have it in the back of the cage in the middle
