Quick Eye Question

I have a kingonyia vosseleri and I noticed on his right eye he sort of closed it and squished it. He repeated this about 3 times in 15 seconds. I think this is just sort of normal behaviour like us taking a stretch but I just have never seen him do it.

My baby chameleon did this too on Friday.. any vet office that excepts exotic pets were all closed. It is the third day of this behavior and he keeps his eye completely closed now. I attempted a saline solution to wash his eye out (I read how to do so on these forums) but no luck. I've only had him one week today and he is showing signs of a vitamin a deficiency(I'm no veterinarian though). He has the earliest appt. available tomorrow thanks to an emergency vet care in my area! I wishe it were sooner but the reptile specialist is not there today..
