Quick Question On Handling

I just tried to get my baby veiled out for the second time. He's only four moths, and so I"m going to start trying to handle him more so he can come out in the summer. Anyways, I went to get him, and he got around my hands from his branch. Should I try again in an hour, or just call that a day? He hasn't eaten almost at all in the past two days. He only had 1 large cricket yesterday. Thanks for the help!

Don't rush it.....

3 weeks of patient work is all for naught when I thought it was okay to handle

Now he is not coming out when I put out food

I recommend slow progression with hand feeding and ultimately luring him to crawl onto your hand

Ours was super hesitant with the handling as well. We just started slow with hand feeding and getting him used to us reaching in his cage for him. When we got to a point where we felt like he could handle the stress of the first time being held completely (we talked a lot to our breeder about when it would be best), we reached in and took him out with a branch. Started off with a short period of handling, and progressively handled him longer consistently. Be patient and you'll get there.
