Quince Monitor, Blue Tree Monitor, Ambanja on Fire

A very unusual looking but quite beautiful Ambanja!. You do not see many with that much red. Where did he come from? The other lizard is also awesome. I love the blue! What do they eat? I am afraid to ask!! I don't know why people comment on some threads and not others. Don't be sad!

Uhoh, I think the second Queen of Chams commented now! :)

He is from Kaleidoscope chameleons, I have seen a few of his brothers on the forum.

Some people have said they seem to be a tamatave cross but I personally believe ambanjas can have a lot of red, just as they can have tons of blue. I think it just depends on what breeders breed for lol!

Also they do eat mice- hoppers to be precise, but only every other week. I feed mostly dubia, crickets, superworms, and most any other feeder I can get my hands on. I can't lie though, I do like watching them eat the hoppers, not because I like the killing by any means but just watching the shear power of the monitors eat is cool to me.

Cali over the summer is great, but over most of fall and spring there isn't much outside time and none in winter lol. Socal is a different story though.

Wow, love the reds on that ambjamba! Hmm, monitors, I love the sleek body design and the patterns-what's the general care for one o' those babies? Just asking:cool:

A very large setup is typical. My setup now is small and it's 3x2x5. He is doing great in it so far though :). He will get a bigger enclosure in a couple of months.

He eats hopper mice, crickets, dubia roaches mainly. Needs a temperature gradient of about 80-110 degrees and a basking spot at about 125 degrees! With humidity at about 60-80% with a nesting box at about 80% + at all times to help them shed.
