R.I.P. Helmut - You touched my heart in so many ways!

I had to euthanase my beautiful veiled chameleon 3 days ago after his liver failed and he collapsed. It broke my heart and it is going to take a long time to heal.

He is buried in a special place in my garden and there is a rock cairn on top of his grave with a chameleon statue. A storm brewed while I was digging the hole and as I finished burying him, it started to rain, almost as if Mother Nature was mourning the loss of one of her own.

He was an awesome chameleon and everybody marvelled at his size and colouring. His passing is a big loss to us and we miss him more than words can say.

Rest in peace Helmut, I loved you way too much.

So sorry for the loss. I never cried more for the loss of a pet than the passing of one of my Chams. They have something you can never forget once they have shared it with you.

I am so very sorry to hear about Helmut. Loosing one of these guys is extremely difficult. I have lost a few and every time it breaks my heart. I still cry over them almost daily. It's something about these guys. They get right into your heart.
