Hi my name is max. I am 14 years old and have recently had to put my chameleon down. He had a prolapse and we went to Greek and associates vetenarian. Zulu had two stitches and was not able to eat for 5 days. A day after we took the stitches out Zulu, he had another prolapse.we went back to dr. Greek and he looked at Zulus fices and said he had parasites. We took him home and three days later he had a prolapse through the stitches. He was in a lot of pain and we did not want to have surgery done. We decided to put him down.
I am open to questions and how to prevent it.

I'm very sorry for your loss- It's heart breaking to loose any pet and he was certainly beautiful- I'm sure your going to miss him.
I've read quite a bit on prolapse and I haven't read anything that says for certain what causes it. I wouldn't blame yourself- sometimes things just happen - sounds to me like you did everything you could - I doubt surgery would have saved him and it most likely would have prolonged his pain.
