raising a Kinyongia multituberculata

Hi,

I am new to Kinyongia multituberculata or any other chameleons for that matter and I am wondering what is the best kind of habitat for them (Kinyongia multituberculata). Temperature, humidity level, etc....

can anyone enlighten me on this matter?

one more question would be how many kinds of light do i need for the chameleon. Currently I only have reptisun 5.0 and a exo terra sun glo tight beam for basking light. I know that they do need UVA and I need advice on which bulb would be best. Thank you in advance.

Hey GREAT question!

Reptisun 5.0 will work fine for your UV. The only other light you need is a regular cheapo 40 or 60 watt bulb. Preferably in a reflector something like the picture below. If you are gonna rest the lamp right on the screen I'd go with 40 watt and run a branch about 4 inches underneath it for the animal to heat up.

Then, aside from the chameleon care basics that apply to all species ( PM me with any questions) I'd just say that Kinyongia benefit from:

--More frequent watering

--Lighter vitamin supplementation

--Cooler nights

--Higher humidity

HOWEVER, with that said, they are still pretty easy. A healthy animal will survive many of its owners mistakes and still be fine.

Do you have one yet?

* Supplements - What brand and type of calcium and vitamin products are you dusting your feeders with and what is the schedule?

Current Problem - The current problem you are concerned about.

wow u guys really enlightened me. i just checked a few site and they said that the particular species will need a cooler room of abt 60 to low 70 and around 90% humidity at night. During the day it would be best to put them in around 70-low 80F and basking would be 85F and not exceed 90. I wonder if all I said are correct.

Here's what I'd say -- if you are comfortable in the room then they will be comfortable too!

You do not need 90 humidity at night. Humidity could be 50 all day and night but if you give them enough water to drink they will be fine.
