Rate my Local Zoos enclosure

So you disagree and are saying that of EVERYTHING they're doing, the sand is the number one problem? I agree with putting out a good example for people and nowhere did I say that this is the best option, I just think the impaction stuff is a myth. There's more immediate changes I'm sure they could be making than worrying about sand.

Not trying to sound rude, even if you might be, but how many different types of reptiles have you owned. I've seen leopard geckos and bearded dragons die of sand impaction. So some people dont gutload their feeders and their reptiles live long and do fine. So if they say needing to gutload is a myth would you agree? Just because you haven't had issues doesnt mean others haven't either.

You're actually the one trying to sound rude and have disagreed with me for no apparent reason. You're the only person here that can't seem to get my point. Im even throwing you a bone and agreeing with what you're saying. I never said eating large amounts of sand was safe. Please re read everything I've posted.

I disagree. I think its pretty bad. People go to zoos and think that's the way you're suppose to keep the animal. For that reason alone I think it's worse. They have a responsibility to care for there animals better than your average joe.
While the sand my not be a good option as a representation to the public of their husbandry I think the lack of branches, hiding areas, and the lizard that looks very much alive on the back wall is far worse.... this screams buy a Cham and house it with a gecko.

I looked at it full size on my monitor and it is part of the painted mural. A female?
I just pulled it into photo shop lol are you talking about this?

Mmm. I did. I mentioned that the sand was my largest concern, was it. Anyway, we can at least agree that the enclosure is not optimal lol

Mmm. I did. I mentioned that the sand was my largest concern just as a mention buddy. But sure.

I could have worded what I originally said better. I didn't intend it to make you mad, just offering to the conversation. I forget that texts can easily be taken the wrong way, so if I said something that seemed disrespectful early on I apologize for that.

I don't like to tough talk over the internet, any time I do I feel stupid. Asking how many reptiles I've kept was a little goofy though. I won't bother answering that, you can think what you want. I've been with you from the beginning that the enclosure needs work and the way they have sand isn't good. I was just more concerned about other aspects of their husbandry.

Did you get your gnat problem figured out?

I'm curious to find out what the zoologist has to say. Found this video rather "enlightening" as to the trek from Ambilobe to vohemar though .

Youre good man, same. I wasnt mad in the slightest, just confused how I possibly made you mad. Tone and context get lost in messages.

And no, not even a bit. They're getting worse by the hour lol. Trying to convince my wife to let me spend more money on plants is...tough.

Gotcha (y) well my bad, I didn't mean to come off argumentative. I think we just took each other's comments the wrong way.

I had tons of sundews, a lot died off when I brought them in over the winter(I think I shocked them, too big of a change at once). I have some popping up again though. If I get some more like last summer, I'd be happy to send you some if you're still looking for a solution.

I'll let you know, I'm probably going to sneak them on the credit card without her looking. What temp/humdity and how much watering do they generally need?
