My female veiled, Isis who is 11 months, has been having a bit of a rough time lately. She was diagnosed in late August with pneumonia - her left lobe was completely infected and her right one partially (My vet didn't hold out much hope for recovery!) Since her diagnosis she's had 5 weeks of oral Baytril, she laid her first clutch of unfertile eggs and had a partial shed. Its been extremely stressful (for both of us!) but she is thriving now and looking plump and healthy with a strong grip, bright eyes and clear (not raspy) breathing. I am so very, very pleased for her (and proud of myself) that we overcame this - I have even trained her to cup feed in this time period!
However, in my overzealousness of wanting her back on track to being healthy, I think I may be feeding her too much! Since taking her off the Baytril (a week ago) she has been eating ALOT - 15 - 17 crickets per day and I have been monitoring her fecal matter but today, WOW! She had the biggest poop I have ever seen (for a cham!) Seriously, it was at least 2.5 inches long and when I investigated further, I found a huge patch of urates on the bottom of her enclosure as well.
I have posted a pic of each (sorry, I know its gross....) but I need to know if this is, or can be normal or if it is an indication of perhaps another problem (bowels)? I am extremely attached to this little girl and need to know if the big poop and large urate warrants a trip to the vet? Any advice would be appreciated!
