Reflection...

Is there any possible way to eliminate the reflection from glass? My Veiled is extremely pissed off at his reflection, unfrotunately it is too cold for a different tank....

I wondered if there is perhaps a stick on film or something which dulls the glare and reflection. Any body else solved this problem without having to replace the terrarium?

Cheers

use a screen cage with plastic around it..just leave the top half of the front door and top uncovered..or add a ceramic heat bulb to the room they are in for nightime temps..( my chams consistantly sleep in 63 degrees at night just fine..unless its literally freezing in your house) witch wouldnt suprized me since yer in germany...

i couldnt imagine using sand paper to mar the glass cage (it would make it look awful) but that would be a solution...

You could try a glass film like one of these: http://apex-window-film-store.com/store/home.php?cat=355

or a frosted overlay:

For a quick fix, you could try adhering plants, wax paper (make sure he doesn't eat it) or screen to the glass on the inside.

In general, mirrors operate by having something behind a pane of glass that is dark/more reflective than glass. So covering the outside of the terrarium will only make his reflection show up better (Even if it's white paper). You just need to experiment.

Yeah the problem is, we got him from someone with the Terrarium included, I would of bought something else if I had started from scratch. I will buy him a different home, but I need a solution for now while I save money up. Thanks

Yeah it's been snowing today, so you get the picture haha. The problem is that it costs a fortune to keep the flat heated, especially all the time for the little dude!

reflection has a lot to do with ambient lighting in the room. If it is dark outside the tank, there will be more reflection on the glass from the basking light. Open some curtains or move him to a room with more light...

Contact paper, much like the frosted glass effect is the cheapest and most effective solution I can think of. You can buy contact paper at craft and office supply stores, its the same product used to cover school books.
