So I finally ordered some pygmys and I have some repashy calcium plus it says use with every insect feeding should I use it every time or should I use it every couple feedings or couple weeks or how often?

Awe, pygmys are so stinking cute!
I have panthers, and veileds now, and use it every time I feed.. I had pygmys years ago, and also dusted with every feeding.. ;)

i still dont even use my lo d every day of the week. im still feeding everyday so i use it 4/5 days of the week than plain calcium from repashy

Pygmy really do not need much seupplementation, especially compared to veileds and panthers. Personally I would use it one or twice a week max. I prefer a separate calcium powder really.

I would use plain calcium once a week and the calcium plus one or twice a month

Okay thanks for the info guys I may get new calcium or I will just use this twice a week but I think I should use it all the time because sometimes the powder may fall off the crix

which formulation? I definitely would NOT use it every day / everytime. Too many vitamins. If you have the low d version, once a week would likely be enough. If you have the regular version, I'd go less often for a pig, maybe twice a month. You could use a plain calcium/mineral supplement without vitamins the rest of the time, as required.

I use the regular version about once a week for veiled and panthers, and Sticky Tongue Farms Mineral-O the rest of the time, as/when/if needed.

It kinda depends on what prey you are offering, what gutload, the type of lighting (or outdoor exposure).

There's a general misconception i've noticed on these forums when it comes to calcium.

Bottom line is, a Cham cannot overdose on Calcium. Calcium is water soluble, so if the cham gets too much via it's diet it will simply pass it out in it's poop/urates.

Zoo med 5.0 cfl as uvb and I will feed gut loaded crickets and some other things like mealworms and moths

The OP is talking about calcium plus which has all of the vitamins and D3 included as well. That is the issue.

So I have heard all your guys great replies now all of you have given me different opinions I just want to know how often you give them the calcium I have seen so many different replies

Honestly, with pymgys you aren't going to want to use that much supplementation.. maybe once or twice a week just to be safe. If you are worried about getting that extra bit of vitamin A in their diet that you are going to get with the calcium plus, you are better off just using a multivitamin so you can separate out the d3 and calcium with every feeding and get a little more control. With pygmys that isnt all too necessary, and if you want to supplement d3 at all you should use repashy with very low levels of d3.

My direct advice would be to supplement with calcium no d3 for most of the time, and calcium low or medium d3 a couple times a month... I have kept pygmies for quite a while and have never had any issues with these regimes.
