repti glo 5.0 questions

This light is a compact or the screw in bulbs with the spiral bulbs. Is this kind of light bad for chameleons or would it be fine to use two of them in my hood?

They are bad for their eyes. Most compacts are.

This type light is not good. It causes eye problems in chameleons.

They are regarded as the worse type of UVB bulbs. Many people in would suggest to use Repti-sun 5.0 fluorescent tubes. That's what I use and haven't had any problems, from baby chams to adult chams.

If you can, take back the compact. Get a linear tube instead.
But DONT PANIC if you've been using it. I used ReptiGLO 5.0 CFLs for a full six months and none of my chameleons have suffered any known injury as a result. Which is not to say I recommend using any CLF - I do NOT. The Reptisun tube is the one most often recommended.
