Hi i just bought zoo med repti vite w-out D3, when i opened it i saw that it has already expired last month. Wil it still be safe or is it of no use to me now?

I would exchange it. Why take any chances with these guys. If you are like me it takes a long time to use a container of supplements and even though it may still be good now I wouldn't want to risk it a few months from now.

Thanks for the reply Jann, i would have exchanged it but i allready broke the seal on the container so i doubt they wil replace it.

I would take it back as well, they should not have even had it on the shelves. It will get thrown away so it is not like they would need to repackage it to re-sell it. Most of the time at least with human medications, when a product goes past its expiration date, the risk is loss of potency rather than it turning into something harmful (except tylenol, my pharmacy friend always said to not risk taking expired tylenol). I have used meds that have been a couple months past their expiration date without any problems but that's just me and it was something I had had lying around the house, not something just purchased.

So the bottom line would be an ineffective dose of supplement for your cham, and I would not hesitate to take it back.

If it contains vitamins, (which yours does) the expiry means something. Its okay to keep using if it expired a month ago, but I wouldn't go beyond that. Since yours is new, you're expecting to use it for awhile, so take it back.

If you have the receipt showing the date you bought it, they ought take it back.

If you had a mineral only powder, the expiry is almost meaningless. Minerals do no degrade. The only chance you'd ever have to toss minerals is if there is another ingredient in there, to keep the product from bunching or balling up or clumping etc, that might go bad.
