Reptile Insurance?

When I was opening my new uvb hud that came in the mail today, I got a leaflet saying you can now purchase reptile insurance.

Does anyone here have it and is it worth investing in? I pay double insurance for both dogs so can't afford right now (can't find work) but might look into in the future.

Unless you own a shop FULL of reptiles or have a BUNCH of reptiles, I wouldn't think its worth it. How much is it, though?

Look into it if you could and post the estimate here. It could be interesting. I only had 4 chameleons this summer but I probably spend close to $1,000 in vet bills - One cost about $500 alone plus another $100 here, another $100 there....

It's the most I've ever paid in vet bills so insurance would have been nice if they covered stuff like infections and accidents. I pay something like $25 a month for my dog, so adding a little more for the chameleons would be worth it if the coverage is good.

I have pet insurance and it covers exotics too! It is only $50 a year and it covers 25% of my vet bill. It is well worth it, especially if you have dogs, cats, and lots of lizards. My pet insurance is called Pet Assure. However, you have to make sure the vet will accept the insurance. Some veterinarians will not.

It's really not worth it in this case either.
Most insurance wont cover deaths of animals, it's kinda just expected.
They'll cover theft (usually with a silly deductible, then have fun proving the animals worth), and large scale natural disasters.

In the end, it's not worth it.

Ah, you Americans have real insurance, we're not so lucky lol.
Thankfully I have a vet that's looking to get back into dealing with reptiles, so I get meds at cost + a small fee, no appointment costs either. /win

I phoned them today and decided it wasn't worth it. They said they will cover theft of the reptile (if under £200 when purchased) small vet bills (nothing major like surgery or long term treatment) and if your reptile bites someone else and that's it really.

My dogs insurance covers more than these guys do lol

I told you get PET ASSURE, it covers dogs, cats, and exotics. It is only $50 a year and it takes 25% off of all vet bills.
