I am SUPER EXCITED TO ATTEND THE SAN DIEGO REPTILE SHOW!
I currently moved to San Diego from Ohio and I went to the Pomona show in January and I can't wait to compare. I'm even more excited to be able to walk out of my condo down the street to the show! I would have had to drive at least 2 hours to see reptiles in Ohio.
If anyone would like to meet up for drinks or chameleon stuff while in town, just message me. Happy Lizard Hunting!

Ooh, I want a free sample of that cricket crack! I got some dry gutload from Pssh and MAN do my Dubia go nuts for it, need to get some more! I do want to try the cricket crack so save me a sample. 
I'll be there Saturday... Michale, i'm still thinking of tagging along but my son will be going with me so not sure if I should just hop on the bus and trolley.

so i just found out some interesting news..and i wasent told that once i knew this info ied be killed so:
I just spoke with the owner of reptile city ( i think his name is robert, ive always called him "dude") but i guess he has just sold the buisness to LLL REPTILE..so there will now be a LLL REPTILE in sandiego!!!!!!! off of mission gorge road,, he also said that he most likley wont be taking any reptiles since hes basically setting up the show (bummer, i wanted to see if i could get some blowout sales!!! lol)..
sweet, no more hour rides to get some great (low priced) chams!!
p.s. every animal i have ever gotten from LLL REPTILE was always perfect, maybe i have good luck, but i have not gotten an unhealthy nor un friendly animal there ( purchased, 6 chams various species, 2 leopard geckos, 1 mali uromastx, 2 bearded dragons, and a rosy boa from them)..all are healthy, friendly, and getting older and older..

That seems like a small store front for LLL. Maybe they'll be grabbing that empty suite next door. I'm sorry the original owners weren't able to keep the store going though. It was sad enough when they closed down the Midway store, but to lose this one too...
But, I have to say, having LLL less than 10 minutes away is going to be great.

You can always wait til the end of summer and go to Anaheim, or Pomona or both. I little closer to home.
For some reason, I just remembered
I sell alot of snake tongs at this show. Must be alot of rattlesnake in the hills east of San Diego.

There are. My husband has tongs just for rattlesnakes. He's moved one baby back to the canyon already this year.

Yehhhhhhp. Where are you guys in town? I've been doing a bit of surveying in the back country with CAL Fire this season and we've seen a few species. I stepped right over a huge gopher snake a couple weeks ago. I think I need more than just tongs: like those leather wraps for your feet, ankles, and shins. Snakes don't scare me at first because I'm so used to seeing them at pet stores and shows!
BTW, saw a big billboard for the show at the intersection of Clairemont Mesa and Convoy the other day. Way to go, Ramy!

We're in Tierrasanta very close to Mission Trails. Our back gate is about 20 feet from the canyon. Wildlife is part of the equation.
My husband has tongs and a 5 gallon bucket set aside for rattlesnake rescue. Every year we make sure all the neighbors (including kids) know to come to him if they see a snake. If there are kids around when he grabs one, he shows them the snake and makes sure they understand that if they see one, they should stay away from it and come get him. He is "the snake guy".
This started because once we had one in the back yard and called the city. They came, they captured, they killed. My husband does not kill the snakes. He simply relocates them back to a "non-human" zone.
I guess this is the last Reptile Show Reptile City will host. I find that sad.

I lived in Tierrasanta 11 years ago, at the end of T. Blvd, and used to walk the dog down in the canyons. I only saw one rattlesnake in close to 2 years but used to hear them frequently and the workers at the apartment complex frequently talked about finding them on the property. Wildlife is definetly part of living there. I'll never forget letting the dog out one night real late and walking outside just 15 feet away from a big mule deer buck. I'd seen him down by the street before but he was RIGHT there when I stepped outside.
I wish there was a "like" button for relocating them vs killing them.

We're on the Clairemont Mesa side. It's a beautiful place to live. The fact that we get to see so much wildlife while still technically being "in the city" is just great.
Sadly, I've only seen deer that have had unfortunate encounters with cars. We have a lot of coyotes. For the last couple of weeks we've been following a litter that is at the south end of our nightly walk. The last time we saw them the pups were big enough to be interested in our dogs (not in a bad way, they seem to want to play).
So, to try to re-engage the topic (not that this isn't a great conversation): We're not going to the show. I'm "full" on reptiles at the moment and frankly, unless I needed something badly I wouldn't endure the crowds. Several years ago they held it at the Fairgrounds and that was amazingly fun. It was, in fact, the event that made me want a chameleon (we just went to see the "things"), but Golden Hall is small and congested.
