There is no coolant in these cooler/heaters. It uses a device that uses electric current to move the eat from one side to the other side of the 'device' you can get some pretty good temps on one side vs. the other.

I was looking at getting these to make incubators... but figured these guys were already on the ball with it so....

The heat swings can be eliminated with putting 'mass into the chamber. I know of a local member who uses two of these for her breeding projects. Placing a dense object into the fridge and letting it 'equalize' the temp will maintain a more 'steady' temp.

Sure, maybe the incubator version has better guts... but if other people are getting the 'fridge' to work with much success, why spend the extra money?
