Reptisun 12months

Hey guys I am using a Zoomed Reptisun T5 10.0 UVB.

It says on the package to replace after 12months which confused me as I am positive you are supposed to replace every 6 months however I am not sure if this product is specifically developed to last that long. I usually use Arcadia but I couldn't find T5s in my area.

Anyway I wanted to ask if I should follow the package instructions or just replace every 6months like usual?

all Arcadia tubes last at least a year. no foolin' :)

are you serious lol any arcadia linear tubes or just a few specific ones ??

Hi Forestdellic-

Serious.

All Arcadia tubes last at least a year. T8's as well as HO t5's and PL tubes.

They are the highest quality and the mercury amalgam in them does not decay as fast as in lesser quality flo. tubes. (It is the tiny bit of mercury in the flo. tube that is responsible for generating the UV rays.)

Basically, they have been tested by many qualified testers (Dr. Frances Baines and others.. including me:D, and they lose only about 20-25% over a years time under normal use. As compared to 50 - 60% for many other brands.
Arcadia bulbs are made in Germany and not in a bargain basement Chinese factory on the cheap like Exo's and others....so that may explain some of it me thinks. ;)

And of course...
as somebody mentioned.... owning a Solarmeter is the way to go, so you can test your bulbs no matter what brand .
But they are expensive so not everyone can afford one and I get that.

You can easily bone up on Arcadia bulbs at their highly informative web-site.
Here is a link to the 6% Ho t5 bulbs.
And you can go off from that page if you want to view the specs on any of their other linear tubes.
