Doesn't look like he has MBD to me, but he looks very unhealthy regardless. MBD could easily be the next sign. His claws are very large too, no idea what causes that. If you want to rescue him, brace yourself for a dramatic time.

It is great what you want to do, but rescuing a possibility very fragile animal from a questionable pet store is only going to support that store, and encourage them to purchase more for sale....hate to be so negative...but this happens all the time....buy from a more reliable source...

Many pet stores do not carry chameleons because they are too fragile and die. Of course, they need a bad experience to develop this opinion. (of course, it is the chameleon that is the problem, not the laziness of the pet store). The only way for a pet store that obviously knows nothing about chameleons to stop selling chameleons is if they lose money on bringing the animal in. I hate to say this, but what others have said is true. If you buy this animal then the pet store has achieved it's goal and will repeat this successful activity and you will see another chameleon go right back in the same cage under the same conditions.
The only way you can save this chameleon and not condemn others is to point out that the chameleon is in bad condition, will die soon, and leave your phone number as a person they can give the chameleon to once the realize it. That way they have learned the lesson they need to learn. They lost money.

Not defending store which probably doesnt have the best husbandry as most dont but he really dont look that bad. Eyes are wide open,All nails from pic, no breaks straight limbs, no visible stuck shed. ect. Chameleons bruise easy anyways. Probably the mark on the chin small bruise.

What caouses his bottom lip to sag down?

WELL IV ALREADY POINTED OUT THE OBVIOUSE TO THE PETSTORE..MAYBE I SOULD HAVE A TALK WITH THE ACTUAL OWNER AND WELL LET HIM NOW THT HIS CHAM IS NOT BEING TAKEN CARE OF...THERE SELLIN IT FOR 60 ..BUT I SEE WHAT U GUYS MEAN BY SUPPORTING THIS NASTY TRADE OF CHAMELEON HUSBANDRY... THEY USUALLY SELL THEM WHEN THERE SMALL..THIS GUY NEVER GOT SOLD,,SO THTS WHY THEY DONT KNOW HOW TO CARE FOR HIM. WAT CAUSES HIS BOTTOM LIP TO SAG DOWN LIKE THAT? IT DOSNE ALIGN UP WITH THE TOP LIP..

I got my Senegal for 100, was his lip like that the whole time or was it just some of the time? Mine doesn't do that, but the rest of him looks okay, no visibly broken bones, nice and green, wide eyes, nails as far as I can see.

weak lip all the time

yea his lips are like that ALL the time ..it seems pretty funny at first ,i thought maybe he was going like that but..he is always like tht. what do u think it is?

Small possibility it could be mouth rot, I've heard that with it chameleons will have their lips open, hard to tell with the picture though.

I had a quad with a lip like that for the whole time I had her. She was w/c so we never knew what happened. It never bother her at all.

Also if you are getting the cham, do it sooner, not later. The longer it stays there the worst for the cham. Now you have to decide, to buy or not.

It could be mouth rot, I've heard it can make their mouths open in such a way, but hopefully it isn't. Could be a sign that the Chameleon has been rubbing its face on the front of the vivarium to get out, or on a vine/twig.

senegal saved and a new cage too

thanks for all you replys and thoughts,,,well today i went to the shop and had a one on one with the shop keeper about the chameleons health. i told him if u really want to sell chams, put up a sign and who ever is interested will come to you, then u can oreder it and the cham will have a caring owner waiting for it to be piked up at the pet shop.. that way u dont have to worry about giving proper care to the little guys theres no point in keeping a cham in the shop if its not going to be cared for..and well he understood that it was in bad shape and i made a deal to get the senegal of his hands including the cage jeje for a really really good bargain. he couldnt resist so now i welcom to the collection a new senegal that my girlfriend and myself are bringing back to health and hopefully lives a long proactive life.
