Resting colors

Curious to see what everyone's chameleons resting colors look like? If there’s a forum of this already, please direct me as I tried searching but no luck. As a new panther chameleon mom I’ve noticed most pics I see online are when they are fired up and most colorful, but I want to see the resting colors too! 😍

I’ve had Jack since last October and he is yet to fire up for me. In late winter all of his colors paled, which worried me but I guess some chams just do that. His colors have come back as you see from his pic.

He's typically lighter when he sleeps, and then he got dark because I thought he was dead and disturbed him. 😅 The way his little chin is resting on the leaf was just perfect.

Where did you look? Here are 7 not including this one.

Also, what's your definition of "resting colors"? Basking, hanging out below the canopy, sleeping, other?

They're all different.

My guy is a few years old hatching in 2018 and coming into my care 2019. and about 6 months ago went from all greens and blues to this red rainbow vibe. I rarely see him "fired up" (for him it's typically showing more whites yellows and blacks) unless he's trying to mate or afraid of something like a stray cat or someone walking their dog while we are outside catching rays.

Such a goober 🤣

That's so cool that he can completely change. Like a whole different cham. ♡
