Hi guys !
Alrighty, so for the past 5-6 days my female veiled has been super restless, climbing all over her cage, so I'm thinking she may be making eggs and looking for a spot to lay? I've had a lay bin in her cage for months already (pics included) - the thing is she's very restless but mostly very keen on getting OUT of her cage. She usually asks me to come out every day and is very social and friendly, but this restlessness is nuts! She's now on a constant hunt to open the door it seems (she knows where it opens and just goes to the corner and looks as if shes trying to push it open herself (its quite funny to watch). She's definitely receptive as I have a male as well and when I let them free range she yells at him when he even LOOKS at her, but the other day she crawled onto HIS hibiscus plant and just waited. I looked over and my male was halfway on top of her (I quickly intervened as I just couldn't handle the care for a bunch of babies at the moment lol) - SO my questions 1) Do you guys think shes making eggs? Is it normal for there to be a period of time where she's maybe creating the eggs and is restless during this stage? 2) Is my lay bin appropriate? I've watched many tutorials and made a mix of vermiculite, dirt and sand, and it's very moist so she can tunnel (but not too moist) - it's about a foot deep (maybe a bit deeper). Do I have enough covering around it? ANY help and advice would be so so so appreciated - i love her to BITS and just want to make sure everything is on track for her. Thank you guys in advance ! (second to last pic is her trying to push against her cage and open it ) 3) Should I be letting her out like usual? (she always wants to come out and hang) - or should i leave her in her cage to try and force her to lay?
