Rico licking my hand

rico my Yemen chameleon keeps shooting his tongue out at my finger. Why???

Chams are attracted by movement and shiny surfaces, so possibly he's testing to see if there is water on your hand. I've had a couple of chams who learned to lick water out of my cupped hand. Once I sprayed the cage and they started reflex licking, I held up a wet leaf and they started licking it. Then, I laid the leaf in my hand and they continued to lick that. It was very cool!
