You got the right one. It is called schefflera arboricola and is non toxic.

How about pruning it? it's quite large right now and I may need to take a little off of one of the sides so it fit nicely in the cage.

Its not a bad Idea it also gives the plant more energy to expand in other areas. I trim my plants every so often and it keeps them in shape.
