RIP Violet

Well after taking her to see Dr. Stein today, she died.

I took her in and he diagnosed her with hydrocalcium(something), pretty much a low calcium deficiency. He advised me to force feed her with beat baby food mixed in with ensure. He told me 1cc to start.

So I went to the store and bought what I needed to buy and came home to feed her. So I put the syringe in her mouth and slowly started to put the mixture in. She didnt move and then she started to open her mouth as if she was gagging. After 2 minutes she stuck her tongue out and bit down on it. She turned rock hard and a couple minutes later her head turned black.

I just got done burying her in my back yard. She was my favorite chameleon, very easy going and very pretty. After laying her eggs she took a turn for the worse. I miss her already.

RIP Violet:(

This is a hard question to ask, but is there any chance you may have squirted the liquid down to her lungs by accident?

RIP, and I am sorry for your loss.

I dont think i did. I asked him several times how to do it, and he said I could either stick it in her mouth and squirt it down from there or stuff it down way into her stomach. I chose to just stick it in her mouth cause I did not want to stress her out even more by sticking it down her throat.

She was in really bad shape. She barely had any movement in her back legs. I think it might have been too much for her

Aww! That is so sad.:( It's such a horrid feeling to watch your cham pass away - I know how you are feeling right now. Rest in peace Violet.

You did what you could, be happy for that. She'll be waiting for you at the rainbow bridge.

I too am very sorry to hear this sad news. Take comfort in the fact you took her to see a vet and tried your best to save her:(
