Rudis Chameleon Giving Birth

Did you choose that tree?
If so why such a high one?
I have seen a Jacksons give birth, but the babies came out in a sack.
The sack stuck to the leaves and branches so the baby wouldnt fall.
It seems like it was a tree in you back yard or something.
Unless you just let chameleons freerange you backyard.:D
By the way, really cool video Mike.

I have jewled Rudis or red rudis whatever you want to call them, my female droped 2 months ago. Had about the same height of fall. Really to me it seems like if it is not that high it takes longer for them to get going. And they all are doing fine, so im sure Mikes will/are doing fine as well. Some of mine came out in sac's others didnt.

Yes the baby is fine and it was more like 2 foot. Vivid imaginations out there. Some enclosures are like 4 foot that my animals are in and they make it on a hard PVC bottom when they drop and are fine. She had 9 babies.

The baby looks as if it had a hard time getting out...seems like its head was stuck in the cloaca!! LOL... Nice! NIce! Nice!

I have heard that a fall is sometimes necessary to wake the baby up - without a jolt, they don't bother to come out of their sac. This true Mike? Never had livebearers.

Yes it's true. Usually they come out in sacs, but this one actually broke out of the sac before it came out.

I didnt know Rudis chameleons gave birth to live babies instead of laying eggs. What a nice way to enter the world!:D Cool video man!

That is how many people I know were born... thus explaining how they go about life!!!!

HE!HE!

Kewl vid!!!

great video!! Now I know what it looked like for my rudis! I missed the whole thing! She was pretty sneaky on me. I guess she knew my routine and waited till I was not looking to drop her babies. I found them right when she finished!
Thanks for sharing!!

Amazing vid!! Thanks. She made it look pretty easy... unlike... well nevermind. How hard is it to raise baby rudis? I've heard it's difficult...
