Sacramento Reptile show

Hi all. So how many people went to the sacramento reptile show, and how many are experiencing buyers remorse today? I'm very remorseful of not having spent more money and buying more stuff that I needed. This was my second show and I was still overwhelmed. Met Marty from Mist King. Very cool guy.

I did buy myself a T. Blondi and enclosure. Wishing I would have bought one of them Mellers, a couple of light fixtures, a fogger, and a large cage. Sooooo stupid of me. Next year I'm going with a checklist.

It was my first show and I was extremely overwhelmed with all of the reptiles. It was fun sharing it with my 6 year old, who surprised me when she told me her favorites were the snakes. But yes...I wished I would have purchased an enclosure there and perhaps a couple of chameleons too :) Oh well...at least I snapped several pictures to hold me off until next year...heh.

Running very low on sleep. I feel like a did a whole week worth of things, over the weekend in Sacramento. Did'nt even have time to take pictures, or walk the show. :cool:Zzzzzzz

Really? I was a bit disappointed. Some of the chameleons also didn't look so well. Some of them had their eyes closed and very lethargic.

I did however buy some bugs. Also got some pray mantis that my male adores.

I probably did. I bought 5 of them, their so cool!

I'm gonna need more very soon haha. I almost went back Sunday to buy a few more from you.

only remorse is lack of space in my house. Went looking for a male brev pygmy, but came home with a bearded dragon, a mt. kenyan Jackson male, two enclosures, set up for the jackson, gut load dry supplement, hand misters, etc.

I was expecting to see more chameleon sellers like last year, but I got a couple of Masoala's from FL Chams and I'm supper happy. At the end of the show I ended with a $700+ hole in my wallet! between chams, feeders, lightbulbs, cages etc. I don't think I've ever spent that much on a shopping spree on myself:p

I took some photos while I was at the show. We were located near the Pheonix herp society... man they had some really cool stuff. The only chance I had to get some photos was on Sunday morning before the show.

Enjoy:

Not sure what side of the fwy the vehicle came from.... but this was an accident I saw on my way to the show Friday afternoon:

I scored a pretty nice hotel on priceline following Chad's lead on what to shoot for I ended up on the 9th floor with a balcony :D:

The hotel was across the street from the capitol:

It was nice. The WC chameleons that I saw didn't look too bad. Better than last year.

I had to give myself a certain amount of money for the show so I wouldn't over-spend like I tend to do...

Another show that you haven't come by and said 'hello' to me :(

Sorry. I didn't really have time to look at every booth. I dont think I got to that end of the room.

I had to buy a leopard gecko for a friend and it was taking me forever to figure out the genetics and what not that went along with the specific kind he wanted! I swear I sat at two booths for an hour getting more and more confused. I just needed a snow! Of course the breeders were trying to tell me about the genetics and stuff, but it was too much to soak up in an hour (especially without me being able to draw out the genetics!)

I hear you about the genetics. I LOVE genetics and I have spent hrs on line learning about them and still get very confused about it. And when you look at genetics in general Leapards are pretty simple compared to say crested geckos which I think its going to be a while before anyone figures out.

That cobra pic is cool. They had a venomous display at Repticon Houston last weekend also. They had a cobra on display. I'd never been that close to a King Cobra before. Very impressive animals, you can actually see how intelligent they are. Not like a reg ole constrictor either. These guys watch every move you make. Even the Eastern Diamondbacks they had didnt show the intelligence or aggression that the cobra did. I couldnt imagine handling that guy. Or the green mamba those guys freak me out.
