Chameleon Info:
Your Chameleon - Male, Panther, 10 months old has been in my care for 9.
Handling - Usually only when bringing him to his hibiscus outside.
Feeding - I give him 12 3/4 inch crickets daily, he eats between 8 and 12 a day. Gut loading with repashy super foods and fruit.
Supplements - Light, daily dusting of Repashy calcium plus (recommended schedule, been on it his entire life)
Watering - Dripper and Mist 2 times a day, mist goes for 2 minuets, dripper goes for 10. He's shy about drinking in front of me, but I catching him every now and then. Show's no apparent signs of dehydration.
Fecal Description - Healthy appearing fecal matter, healthy, white urates. He's never been tested for parasites but was given a small amount of deworming agent when he was 6 months old.
History - He's always been healthy, this is the first abnormality I've had with him.
Cage Info:
Cage Type - Metal cage, 40x25x30 (very open air, no medium between cage top and lights, possible problem?)
Lighting - 100w Zoo Med repti basking spot lamp, 26w Exo Terra Repti-Glo 2.0 full spectrum, and 26w Exo Terra Repti-Glo 5.0 UVB. Lights are on from 9:30AM-8:00PM
Temperature - Hottest spot in the cage, his basking spot, is 90. Floor is between 65 and 70. Night time, no lower than 60.
Humidity - 60% - 75%
Plants - Artificial plants, plenty of places to catch droplets.
Placement - Basement room, but well ventilated, low traffic, bottom is about a foot from the floor.
Location - Massachusetts (I've been taking him outside most days in the summer, which he loved. But now that its getting cold, he's been inside for a while which appears to be stressing him out a little.)
Hi Chameleon forums, my friend Erebus has been having a little issue with his eyes. For a few weeks now, one of them, now both, has seemed a little puffy, but only below the actual opening for his pupil. It didn't look like anything concerning until today. The puffy area is only visible when he is looking up or directly at you. He is showing no other signs of ailment and his eyes do not appear to be bothering him. They retain the healthy "ball turret" shape.
I have attached a picture of each eye along with the links:
Left Eye
Right Eye
PS: It's not easy to get a chameleon to pose for a picture, if necessary I can attempt to get less blurry ones.
