You know she has got to be thinking ‘My kingdom for some Aveeno’.

While it does break the ‘no wider than their eyes’ food size rule, in reality those horns are just giant tubes of green juice so she could eat them. I’m told they also taste great in a nice cheese dip but I can’t fathom they would taste like jalapenos at all.

Honestly I've never gotten any of my cristatus or other rare species to eat horns or silks so don’t panic. Perhaps the wild caughts don’t recognize the soft bodied worms as food? I don’t know. Flies on the other hand are relished by most chameleons and will get any picky eater to eat. They aren’t the most nutritious feeder insect but is a good addition to regular meals.

Yikes! Please be careful with the idea of administering vitamin A shots to your new cristatus. Montane species should be fed gut-loaded crickets or roaches that have been fed carrots, slightly cooked yams, or slightly cooked pumpkin in addition to their regular gutload for beta carotene (a better and safer form of Vitamin A). These have plenty of usable beta carotene which their body will then turn to vitamin A as it needs it.
As for your new pet... congratulations!!! It's such a beautiful specimen!!! I'm hoping you got lucky and have the best of luck with it!

The vet administered the shot and fixed the problem right away.

Thanks for sharing this info on the gutload on this Montane species.

Just got my Arcadia setup... Milly seen much better with the eyes. Hope she gets to enjoy this...

Update. RIP Milly
In two day her health decline a lot...
A lot of experience and fighting with her... Much knowledge learn and thanks to all for the support. Being wild and very delicate species was against me but I gave 100% to her.

Thanks guys,

Oh no, so sorry! You put a lot of time and effort into her set up and care! Again, so sorry for the loss, what a beautiful creature she was.
