Salmonella or other zootonic infections

How common is it that chemelons make thier owners sick. I'm more concerned as one of my family members is on medications that suppresses thier immune system. However I'm gonna be the one to clean out the tank and have any interaction with the chemelon. And I do follow good handwashing procedures to the point my hands dry out. If I follow good hygiene practices the risk of salmonella is very low right.

I would say very very rare, good hygiene goes a long way. ?

edit: some people do develop allergies to crickets and roaches. That would be my main concern.

Don't lick the cham.... Don't clean the cham enclosure and lick your hand. Washing hands is key... I do not wash any of the stuff for my cham in my kitchen sink either.

Ok yes thanks good advice I will most likely wash it in the toliet sink and disinfect after.

Also speaking of cleaning how would I go about cleaning the enclosure just water I heard of a product called f10 is that safe to use and not rinse off. Also how would one disinfect live plants. Also how do people hang live plants in thier enclosures. I'm so sorry I keep asking you questions if I'm annoying you please say.

I use F10 to clean my cages , I know it says you don't have to rinse but I still do . for the plants I use 5% hydrogen peroxide plants don't mind it if you get some on the dirt accidently . I was told rain water naturally has small amounts in it as well .
