(Sambava) Meet the Thompsons

Lobo is such an unusual variety of sambava, he doesn't have the common orange dark bars when fired up.

is there a reason behind those amazing blue bars?

They are not blue at all, it appears that way because of the shed skin. It was more of a maroon color. He just shed today and is showing more of a dark orange/green mixed stripes that cause the dark color. Sleeping he shows only Bright Orange bars (not like El Lobo) and yellow body. Probably getting some of his moms features.

I'll post some pics tomorrow after work when I get some. He really is coloring up nicely for his age. I like how he is a little different. Really catches the eye.

Ryan, awesome chameleon. I wanted a baby from Lobo also, but unfortunatleu he has now been retired from they're breeding proggram. Do you have any recent pictures of you're sambava?

Strange colors for a "sambava" male at such a young age.
I don't think I've seen a blue bar sambava before.....

Sambavas typically do go through a blue bar phase. That is totally normal. Here is an attachment of my boy as a juvi. and now matured.

BTW Your boy is going to be on fire when he matures. He looks great!
