Sansi Led grow

I just received my sansi Led 70w grow light for the live plants in my new cage build. The sansi led seems WAY too bright for a chameleons cage! I feel like it would be cruel to put this super bright light above his cage for 12hours a day. What is everyone’s thoughts on this?

That was exactly how I felt the first time I got mine and plugged it in. The only problem that it has where my chameleons are concerned is they gravitate towards basking under their plant light, instead of their less bright basking light. They have eventually figured out where the warm light is and bask appropriately. Do make sure you’ve got some good plant cover that they can take shade in if they desire. Of course, the Sansi light will help your plants greatly. :)

Hello. My plants were dying fast so I was excited to see ur recommendation. I just used the Sansi light today and it is definitely very bright. My chameleon has been hiding since i connected the plant light. Im not sure he likes it. I checked temp on the closest branch at the top and it’s 95 degrees so definitely too hot. I know this light is supposed to be safe for chameleons but should I elevate it because right now it’s sitting on the screen at the top ??

Yes, if it’s causing temps that high, elevate it. They do come with needed things to hang them. You just need a ceiling hook.

I checked the box and I didn’t see any hardware for hanging included. Can you tell me what you received that’s included in the box? This way I can compare with item description and see if something was missing in my shipment.

These are the lights that I use. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07TKKG8Q3/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 If you scroll down the page, you’ll see the hanging hardware as they instruct how to hang it.
I see why now. We’re using a different sansi light. I have the single one for a mini dome lamp. So maybe i should get a lamp stand for now? Then maybe my cham will accept it lol. Once i get a bigger enclosure i will look into this hanging grow lamp. It’s very nice.

Oh. I have some Sansi dome lights too. I haven’t noticed that they get that hot, except for one that malfunctioned and burned itself out. It melted a bit of the top of one of my leopard gecko tanks. Sansi is really good about replacing defective items. 3 of my big 70w units died before their warranty was up and they replaced them. Thankfully I had bought them either direct thru them or on Amazon. If I didn’t need so many plant lights, I’d probably have tried an Arcadia Jungle Dawn.

Thanks for the replies! I actually didn’t end up using my sensi light and went all artificial in my enclosure. It was just so bright it seemed cruel to put in his enclosure.
