Depending on the climate in your area and your house this can be necessary. Been there done that! You may find that putting some clear plastic sheeting on another side will help. If you attach it loosely you can always remove it during seasons when the house is more humid. On one of my wooden framed permanent cages I made "storm windows" out of clear plexiglas and attached them to the screen sides with toggles screwed into the cage frame. They looked nice and I could arrange them as the seasons seemed to dictate. As others have said, more live plants help a lot. Also, remember that your cham doesn't need (and shouldn't get) a constant high humidity level, just a cycle of wetter and drier so the cage doesn't mold and the air doesn't sit stagnant. Your plants will need the variation too. The cage should be able to dry out at least once each day. I usually set things up so the warmest time of day is also the driest.I actually just set up my most king to go off every 3 hrs day and night to help keep up humidity, i have corplastic sign board on the two side and the back affixed with dict tape, once the most king goes off it is maintaining humidity fairly well now, but it is short lived...in between the 3 hrs mistings i have a reptifogger for backup to help keep up the humidity until the next misting....so far this is actually working somewhat well....the humidity just drops back down withing the first hr unfortunately....
I have to mist at night, my house humidity is only about 45 and they cannot go below 50, so theres that. My mist king goes off during the day for 3 minutes every two hrs until night time then it goes off for 2 minutes every 3 hrs....this is helping keep the humidity around the range i have it set at, it varies from 65 to 80, if i dont let the repti fogger keep up the humidity (mostly at night) when my mist king isnt misting then it will drop to much...what is the moderate daily humidity supposed to look like for a jacksons? It rains nearly every single day where they come from in tanzania and hawaii so i dont think a constant mist every 2 to 3 hrs is gonna hurt...my only concern is what he is doing right now, he spends alot of his day on one branch and he is brightish yellow like he is pissed off, idk if it is the humidity or the grasshoppers jumping around or what...im concerned for him
