Screening?

Where can I find a good, cheap large amount of screen to make my own setup with? I'm thinking home depot but they're not very cheap... 100 dollars for 72 x 100 inches.

Aluminum screen was like $30 some dollars at home depot. That screen was enough for me to make 2 big 24x24x48 cages and I still have some left. I dont know what screen you are looking at?

Sounds pretty huge. I would assume screen for something that massive would cost about $100 or so. Sounds pretty intense! Lets see some pictures when you get it going :D

I think for this price it is probably 72"x 100 feet. You can get it there in shorter stretches. I get the 36"x 25 feet roll and it is only about $17. You might look closer at the package and make sure your not mistaking 100" for 100'. I would think for that price you'd be getting 100 feet. But I think it might be hard to find 72" screen in less than at least 50 foot rolls.

I'm 14 and competitive it's my nature to beat everone haha. My parents are glad I'm not trying to buy out an entire rainforest. I'll definately post pictures when it is done, I plan to pimp out my cage.

screening

I have a large floor to ceiling cage and I just used the screening from home depot that is used for screen doors, comes in different size rolls. Not the metallic kind because I was told not to use that. I think my roll cost something like $10. I've been using it for several months now and no problems. Not sure a roll of that would be big enough for your dimensions though.

screening

I haven't had any problems with it. Although I can say that my chams aren't climbing on it because the enclosure is about 6'hx6'wx4.5'd. So the yaren't climbing the walls. I have about 50 feet of biovine in there along with 3 plants.

Their aluminum is very high quality.....more then Home Depot's.

I had started using the Super Screen.....doesnt tear if holes are poked in it and is dog/cat/racoon/opossum resistant. Only problem with it is that heat lamps will melt it.....so I used aluminum on top for lighting.

Because the aluminum is a higher grade, it is harder to screen(spline and not stapling) then the Super. Super is real easy to spline. Most people staple their screen though.

Heres a link to making my cages:

Yea its ok..its what the LLL and others are made out of. Just is a thinner screen. Metro offers different size mesh(hole size) so that toes wont get caught.

Oh I have the LLLreptile ones... I brought one of those where you just connect the tubes into a cube and put the screen over it... let me tell you it is NOT very sturdy of a material. It's loose and weak on my cage. Unless you mean the better looking ones they had?

Yea I ment the aluminum framed ones. The Reptariums are flimsy but do make great temp. and outside cages if you dont keep them out all year. I had 2. Quickly got holes and all but they served their purpose when needed.
The cages I make are heavy......and are ment to stay inside, not to be moved around alot.

Um..........didn't know you were gonna be doing that....guess I didn't read that part......

No, this screen needs support......for screen like that and amount/size, your looking at around 300 bucks if not more....alot more.

If you build a base and have 4 pine 1x2 boards going up to ceiling, you "could" get away with it....just staple the screen loosely onto the boards.
