Seasons?

Since we can set our misting systems to mimic rain storms and other weather patterns, is there a way to mimic seasons with our basking bulbs. Or have I just not known about this and y’all have been doing it the entire time?

I adjust my lighting to the time of the year. Each month I adjust timers to turn on a little bit after sunrise and a little before sunset. It's nice with windows next to the cage, helps the cham ease into it.

You could setup your lights on timers for the respected seasons changing sunrise sunset. Depending on the year it could be 11 hours of daylight or even up to 13 hours of daylight. I like to keep it simple and run 12 hours throughout the year. I do have my jungle dawn grow lights, basking bulb, and uvb bulbs all on separate timers though. I ease my lights on the first 2 hours of the morning and ease them off the last 2 hours of daylight. This is trying to replicate morning sunrise and sunset. Is there any benefit to this idk, but it’s the way I like to do it just feels more natural I guess in my eyes.

There isn't much variation in day length near the equator and most common species are near equatorial. You might not need to vary your day length by more than 20 minutes over or under for seasonal variation.
5˚Latitude shortest day is 11.72 hrs - longest is 12.27 hrs
10˚latitude shortest day is 11.43 hrs - longest is 12.54 hrs
Note this is in 100th hrs not minutes

Yes we can to an extent.

Like Jacksjill said, the day lenght doesn't change that awfully much. The better seasonal change would be water changes.

However while the day is only slightly longer, the Spectra differences during those hours does change quite a bit. A longer day results in longer sunrises and sunsets, there is also the temp differences that come into play.

I would argue we need people to start using lighting for better circadian rhythms first.

I have a complete lighting overhaul, coming very soon. I would have already started but I have had the flu all week :(. It will involve, the ability to change temps via season, and lighting and temps throughout the day, with both some LEDs and basking lights. The normal basking light will have to be altered, or a second "Timer" will be needed however.
