Seeing food as a predator

Ive been training spike to eat from my hand while im holding him.About a month ago he did it a few times but for some reason now he will hiss at it even try to snap at his favorite food superworms what can i do?

Flash goes through similar phases of hand-feeding and holding then not wanting that at all. I leave it up to him.
I think it is a matter of temperment. We are sometimes moody.....I think our chams get the same way sometimes.
