okay, so i was really short on time, my estimated time was supposed to be 30 minutes, but the person that went ahead of me was sooo long and boring -.- so my time was cut...which means i didnt get a chance to go into detail really well. but, i did have alot of fun and its a start :) everyone adored linus, i got to show him off before the presentation so i let him chill during it so he could destress a little and he kept trying to escape XD i only knew when everyone started laughing, so id just flip the cage and he'd keep on walking :p i had asked my mom to video tape it and zoom and such, but she pushed the button and set it on a computer cart in the back of the room, so the visibility and sound is horrible, im sorry :/ just turn the volume up the whole way, lol. if its wanted, i can actually go through and type the whole speech out for those of you who cant hear it.

heres the vid, lemmie know if the link doesnt work: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vgQ3n8BvhxM
-attached will be the powerpoint (its in jpeg format because i couldnt attach an actual powerpoint)

i was also pondering the idea of joining up with my friend gary and putting together an hour presentation (after i get more chameleons;) and presenting at elementary schools and stuff..sound like a good idea?

heres the first 5 slides

we've done the presentations to local classrooms, brought a fake tree and a feeder cage, brought a sheet of some basic facts in case I forgot some.
and a print out coloring paper of a veiled chameleon, "what we brought in". it was a huge success, had all kids sanitize hands before and after touching. did a little Q&A it went very well. good luck

coloring pages are genius! when i start business school next year, ill have fridays off, so i was hoping to work on a presentation this summer with my friend gary who runs a reptile rescue, which would be soo much fun to do at elementary and middle schools, maybe even the local zoology classes at my highschool when they get to the reptiles section :p

it was a very enjoyable deal to be able to shed a little piece of something I'm passionate about to these kids who were completely mind blown just by his eyes lol not to mention the colors, his feets, his tail his veil his spikes his all of the above and more lol

Amanda, you're really good in front of a group. I don't know if you appreciate how rare that is.

You also have a lovely speaking voice. It was quite jarring when your teacher spoke because she has a normal voice and compared to your lovely tones it was harsh.

You should consider a career that involves reaching out and speaking to people because it seems to be a natural gift for you. I particularly loved when you asked if anyone was bug squeamish...it struck me as so natural, so concerned and so very right.

Can you post the link to the epic "chameleons eating" video? I know it's in the picture, but that would mean I had to look at the picture and type the address and I'm so spoiled by hyperlinking that it seems a horrible imposition....

You did a wonderful job, though we didn't get to see Linus.....but I guess the kids could, based on their reactions and that's what matters.

thank you soo much! i just had soo much fun in front of them because not only was i talking about something i love, but linus was up there too, so that made not be nervous  im going into business, so im sure ill have many more chances to speak in front of people, and im really thinking about putting together an epic presentation and presenting to schools and such about them (once my collection grows). that would be soo much fun!

and thanks solidsnake for posting the link :)

Maybe you should hook up with the humane society and be their chameleon ambassador?
