Woke up to my mistking turning on at 4:30 am. I didn't catch it till 5:10 and completely soaked entire bottom of his cage along with my dresser.

Make sure you check your am/pms!! I missed one and nearly flooded my room haha. Gannon my panther slept the entire time. Lucky he slept in the one zone the mist doesn't reach.

How true, I had that happen once, went off for over an hour before i realized it... bad part was, it was for my leaf tailed geckos, and they're in a glass terrarium.

I just had this happen this morning. I just got the mist king and timer set up yesterday. Not sure what happened, but when I got up this morning I heard the pump running. I was like, that is not right, looked at the mist nozzle and nothing coming out. I thought that was odd, so I opened the cabinet door and the resivor is empty. Uh-oh! I check the viv (zoomed 12x12x18 w/ 3 pygmys) and there is a moat in the bottom of the viv. I unpluged the mister, and took some spare tubing, and siphoned the water out. Luckily it didn't over flow.
I ended up resetting the timer, and haven't had any problems today. I must have fat fingered a button when setting it up. My only concern at this point, is if there were any eggs in the substrate that I haven't found yet. Would they be OK with a hour of being submerged in water?

What a shame. Are these prone to going off on there own or are these cases down to user error? I ask because im having an overhaul of all my setups and considering buying a mistking to spray them all.

I would think if your eggs have been submerged in water for an hour then they will be no good, dont quote me on that because ive never had it happen. Id still put them in the incubator though, just in case.

I still don't see what's so hard about taking a spray bottle and pumping it or making a cheap dripper with a plastic cup with a little bit of water in it (like for it you're working).

Some people work during the day, and if there is no one home to mist it's easier to use something like this.

I see a lot of benefits to using a mistking or automatic mister, it's more consistent misting and the cham will get used to being sprayed down and not hate the guy holding the spray bottle.

I am also keen to know if this is a fault or user error?

Mine is on it's way to UK all the way from Canada as I write this!

She** lol and I accidentally mixed up my am/pm on one of settings.

Second I got the mister because I would like to be able to leave my house for a day or two. Feeding him is easy but talking someone into misting him 4-5 times a day is hell.
