Love the Smiley face. Making it.less stresful for the crickets.

My issue is should I leave the pin heads in a small tub with stick over, or let them run wild??

Haha i put smiley faces on everything :)

Its totally up to you!! I tried using a feeding tub and he did use it but it was more hassle than it was worth in my
Mind i just switched back to letting them roam in the cage its better for your cham to be able to hunt for their food but to be honest he never has to hunt cause asoon as i open his cage in the morning to give him his breakfast he's all ready to go and i have silkworms as his main feeder so i put them in around 5-6 in the morning and by the time i have filled his dripper up and come back to him he has wolfed them down!! But i have some banana roaches i let loose in the cage and he goes crazy and hunts everyone of them down! Try let them just roam around, and then try hand feed her 1 or 2 a day if she will take them from your hand this will help her get used to you! And see u as a positive as in bringing food and water rather than a predator who would like to eat her lol :)

My trouble is she is about an inch long if that. And eating #1 crickets. Trying to hold one of them is so hard lol without squishing it :)

Yeah i know what u mean i used tweezers to hand feed zuggie when he was a baby and they were so small so u could try that or maybe just leave it until the feeders get bigger :)

Just tried feeding with tweezers, not to much success. She aint that keen on food :(

Im gonna put here in a bigger terrarium and put a cup in with the crickets with twigs over, see how she gets on, worried she aint eating enough.

(Im a very nervous owner)

Agh right thought u had her longer, she will still be settling in so just give her time just leave her be as much as u can but obviously feed and mist, couple of weeks and she should settle in, when shes used to you she will most prob take food out your hand just keep trying once shes all settled :)

Ah, so I should just leave her be, with a food and misting for 2 weeks, then start trying to hand feed and handle.

Well u could give it another go in around a week some
Chams settle in fast some don't so just depends on her you will know, just make sure she sees you putting the food in and spraying her leaves this will help her get used to you, i had to work hard to handle my cham at first it was on his terms end of ! Lol but i managed to lure him out with a few tasty bugs and after a couple of times doing this he just cant wait to come out and chillout with us :D

Update,

Still no luck feeding, seen her catch the odd cricket but from reading forums babys should have 'ferocious' apatite, however I am not seeing this.

I colected my fruit fly cultures so gotta wait now for them to breed.

When i mist she buggers off and i swear if she could give me the bird she would.

She must still be settling in then.. She must be scared, some chams take more time to settle in that others, she should come round sooner or later just have to give her time once she gets used to you a little more you can try with the hand feeding, her appetite may not be the best if she is still getting used to her new environment.

Hi again (i recommended this forum from the other 1)
My female took a few weeks to settle in and was doing exactly what yours is in that she would eat the odd few but not enough.
I had her in a big viv which I down sized and that seem to help.
Don't handle her and give lots of places to hide out of your view to minimise stress until she settles in.

Hi All

just a quick update.

I have moved her into a bigger terrarium. 18x18x18 and she loves it, seen her eat 3/4 flies since she has been in (about an hour)

And has any one got any ideas what the red is on her throat?

The red on her throat is just her color. Female babys typical have that red/orange troat, and the males often have grey/blue troats. Not as save as using the size/shape of the tailbase for sexing babys, because this all so depends on locale. but red or orange troat on a baby is very often a girl thing.

She is so cute! How do you get the branches to stay in place in a glass viv? What are you using for branches?
Thanks and congrats!
