Hi all,

Could I ask your opinion on the sex of this little chap? (hatched 7th April)

Thanks.

The bulge is on the tail and not the vent. So the red, not the blue. (I was confused when I first started trying to sex them too!) There isn't really a bulge in babies, but the male's tail is thicker than a females. It's easier when you've seen a lot of pictures/have actual babies of both genders to look at. They all pretty much have that vent bulge.

Looks female to me though.

That's a really cute picture and a beautiful looking chameleon.

Thanks :D Both are Nosey Be, should be stunner's next year.

So in hatchlings you're looking for a small dent where the bulge would be? (red square)

Someone needs to make a 'guess the sex' interactive game! hehe.

Do you think she is a little small if hatched 10 weeks ago? My male is the same a week younger and is 3x larger...

Female (DOB 04\07\2012)

Male (DOB 04\12\2012)

Hmmm, must be a mistake on the label - I'm email the breeder. (I do hope she's a Nosey Be, I guess no way of telling until her first clutch?)
