Shaking Chameleon?

Hello all,
I walked into my room today to find my chameleon flared up and then he “sucked” his chin back in then proceeded to do a little shake. It started before I entered the room, so I was wondering what could have caused it? I don’t believe it was caused by me. I have seen on a thread somewhere that shaking could be used as a defense mechanism but I don’t know what could have triggered it. I don’t see signs of stress like black coloring when he did this. I just want to be ensured it’s nothing to worry about, or that I should do something.
Thank you

My chameleon does the same thing, I’ve read about it and most people say it’s a normal defense mechanism even if nothings wrong or there to stress them. It’s to say “this is my cage”. Not 100% sure though, no complete solid answers out there that I could find.

He's pretending to be a leaf in the wind. Walking like that is normal, heres a vid for reference . Chameleons are just funky

haha that’s so cute but it’s more like a wobble i think shake is more like a shiver or more violent movement yk?

Our little fella gives a half hearted try at the leaf walk sometimes but then it seems like he says to himself "eh screw it if it eats me it eats me, I'm grabbing that cricket" fortunately he is a giant pig and food motivated which i think will work in our favor in earning his trust.

I think my cham does this as well - typically in the morning. He'll puff up and move his head as if to stretch his neck to the side and then do a quick shimmy. Often I'll see him open his mouth as far as he can as well when he does this.

I have come to think of it as him kinda doing his morning stretching lol but I could be humanizing him too much

I remember when my boy first did this as a baby walking up my arm - everyone got a good laugh. The leaf walk is so cute.

I am familiar with the leaf walking but I was referring more to this

This is what he was doing the leaf walk he does whenever he’s hunts. Thank you all.
