our veild im pretty sure is gravid and lately shes been getting real close to her basking light is that something they do when there gravid or could her enclosure be to cold?

the temp is around 70 80 and in her basking spot the temp is closer to 100 and shes getting even closer to the basking light for some reason where the temp must be close to 120 anyone know why this could be?

Your basking spot is WAY too high. It should be 90 tops.

see thats what i thought but shes wanting to get even closer to the light wich i dont understand

If she was gravid it'd be the opposite. She'd be low on her cage, I believe.

Perfect-Veileds are heat mongers-so much so that they will cook themselves.

I never knew that. Guess we learn something everyday.

Unless you want her to lay a large clutch keep her basking spot even cooler. I keep my female's at about 84 or 85. My male about 88 or 89. Jann

They will go to the bottom when they are about to lay. Before they are too far along, they will just pig out and sit and bask.
