Your cham was due for a shed whether you had him/her or not. If your cham will not eat the cricket, grab it and gutload it again.

age they didnt know, and hes just about 4-6 inches from mouth to end of tail, and it was a little warm when we set it up it hit 103 at basking with the light they said to use i had to raise it up a little and were at 80-93 now. so i was just wondering if the trauma of the heat and the stress from moving could of did it as well.
Okay that makes me feel better! he has almost all of his skin off from 3 hours ago.. and he just ate too, so its not stressing him to where hes not eating.. this is going to sound dumb but how do you guys feed them crickets.,. do you just throw them in the cage or do u feed him with them in a container? ive heard they can pester the cham. if just left in there and its hard to find them after i put them in..idk if he eats or if the crickets are hiding? what is your advise for this? just trying to see if something would make it less of having crickets jumping everywhere! hahahaMy male has shedded twice since we got him. First time was 3 days after he arrived, 2nd time was just 2 days ago. My female just shedded for the first time since we got her last week =)

I cup feed my cham. Basic solo cup attached to the screen, and then I throw her bugs in there. They can climb out, but she usually eats them before they have that chance. If you free range, make sure ALL are out before lights out. The crickets could chew on him.

Every chameleon I've brought home has shed within a couple of days of arriving. Some the next morning.

You'll just have to look really hard I guess. I don't know how they find them in a free range, Tini has always cup fed. Maybe next time feed one at a time, if you have that kind of time that is.?

No, they can still see red light which will disturb there sleep. They can have a temp drop to 50F at night and still be fine. If it gets lower then that, get a heat emitter, they produce no light.

ive always heard red light is not needed. i think its used in breeding but never bred so not sure. as far as the crickets go i just seal up the cage with hot glue gun at any points the crickets can escape . u did say tank are u using screen/mesh or glass? also if its 3to5 cricket roamers he/she will be fine I have a 2/5 month old veiled that loves to hunt, the rest are on solo cups but they wont start eating out of them for about another 2 months!

cool, ill give it a go tonight and see how he/she is in the morning. thanks, besides it kept the cage a little hot it only dropped to like 75 at night. so with it off it should cool down more too.. do i have to worry about keeping any lights on though? such as my tv? or would it be smart to cover him for the night with a small cloth? again sorry for allll of the questions haha
