I came home today to find a bunch of sheaded skin on the bottom of my tank, but not any left on him and he didn't show any signs of shedding at all the morning of. Is this a bad thing to shed so quickly?

I'm new to the whole chameleon thing, but from what I understand, it's completely normal. If not, I'm sure someone will set me straight.

I've had them shed in a 4-8 hour timeframe. Especially my montium. He seems to shed as fast as I sneeze. What kind of cham do you have and how old is he/she?

mine shed for the first time today, it was amazing. One minute she was normal, then next minute it geniunely did look like she had exploded. Was all over in bout half an hour.

the funniest bit was when she hang off of the branch with her front legs, then hanging straight down, ran both her back legs the length of her tail to get the skin off.

I must admit, when she first started she puffed herself right up and kept 'yawning' and stretching out, I got a little worried for her, but she seems fine now.

She is basking a lot more though...

Aww! That sounds so cute!

They shed quite often as babies and the shedding is usually all done in a matter of hours! Once they are adult they shed in stages and it takes longer - maybe the head one day, followed by the legs and tail then the body. Lily used to take about a week to shed fully. I know of another adult male veiled who always seems to be shedding one bit of him whenever I see him! I love it when Amy sheds! Totally fascinating. She's due another this weekend I think - I can't wait!:D:D

my cham started today, saw some flakes on his turets and his sheild on head was white. got kinda of nervous, went food shopping came back and his legs and body were in full shedd. he should be heading to bed should i shut down his light? or let him get all skin off?

It is really good if they shed n that time frame. Both of mine shed n 4 hrs too! Means they r good and hydrated. You should b a lil worried if it takes days or weeks. Isn't it so exciting to watch them shed! Pechu my female couldn't stop doing circles around her cage when she shed.

I have a 2 month girl panther, I can she shes ready to shed... she isnt moving much, shes sleeping and I dont know if I should be worried or not yet?
