Shed - Eye Question

Hey there, I've got a little question, on Tuesday night I noticed Gonzales eye closed on one side. The next morning (yesterday) he was shedding. Today, he seems to be finished his shed but he's still keeping that eye shut.

???

Any suggestions? I've used Shed-aid on him, could that be the problem?

awwwww! he may have something in his eye, do you have substrate?
he might have got a little skin in his eye from his shed or irritated it. If he doesnt open in in a day or so it might be worth getting the vet to have a look just to be safe! sometimes eye problems can be symptomatic of something else.

Give him some extra very warm mistings and see if that helps. I don't think you need to use Shed-aid......I never have and my guys do fine. Cut back on the Herptivite to once a month and the D3 to twice a month.

I know, isn't he adorable! He'll bite your face off though if he gets a chance. LOL.

I don't have substrate. If there's something in it, is there a safe way to rinse it gently?

Oh, Ok. I'd heard it's nice to make sheds easier for them. I'll adjust that supps too. Thanks :)

Amy managed to get bits of shed stuck in both eyes at the same time when she last shed. She really wasn't happy and she just sat there with her eyes shut looking sorry for herself! I misted her more and put on a knitted glove and picked her up. She rubbed her eyes on the glove material to remove the shed from her eyes! It was a real breakthrough moment for us :D Lily used to do this too, it's so cute!

I have had this problem in older chams. that were shipped to me. Apparently, the stress causes a Vit. A deficiency. I administered Vit. A w/ ritinol and misted w/ warm water and that seemed to make a difference. good luck. I know you feel sorry for the cute little guy. :(

HOORAY!! He's all better. Had it opened up and hunting this morning. Thanks for all your help everyone, the warm mist did this trick (or he got it out himself, don't know).
