So far as I know, if you have the correct humidity % and heat then they should be falling off on their own/he'll scratch them off himself. I've heard that if there are patches that persist, they could suffocate those parts of the body and cause problems...
However, you're never supposed to pull the patches off for them--just help them with giving them water to wash it off, etc.
Ender was doing a shed last week and had problems getting some off of his toes, so I gave him a shower and he enjoyed that and the stuff came right off. So I'd suggest that.

I didn't realize he was so little. A steam room set up is a better way to go
He wouldn't be in there for very long, I don't think it would overheat him. I think like 10 mins is a good amount. Maybe 15.That could overheat the little guy, I would try the worm misting like was suggested it always works for me.
