Shedding??

How often do Chameleons shed?

My 2 Veiled Chameleons are 7 months old and eat, drink and are growing but have not had a complete shed yet. I have had them about a month and the male always looks like he may be thinking about it. He has a soft white tint to him.

I have put shower curtains around all my cages today to help keep humidity up to help them shed if there is an issue. I have my monsoon run every 4 hours for 60 seconds.

I would say up your misting if you are concerned. Maybe they shed right before you got them and aren't ready yet? They will shed when they need to.

I would assume that maybe they haven't grown enough to require a shed yet. :)

When I feel that Camo is going to shed I increase mistings.
His cycle is currently every hour and a half alternating 1 and 2 minutes from 9am to 6pm.

I hope this helps a little and your problem is resolved soon!!

they probably just havent needed to shed yet.
If you are relying on your monsoon for providing drinking water as well as humidity, 60 seconds is not long enough. Need at least a couple of minutes sustained

I will do that for sure, I also use a mister bottle but rely on the monsoon while I am at work. I have moved it to every 2 hours from 4 hours also. You guys are right though I am sure they just don't need to yet!

Thanks!!
