Shedding

So I've found plenty of useful information on this forum but so far very little on shedding. My question is how long does this usually take? Literally an hour and a half ago I saw signs of shedding (first time ever with me woo) and now that my boyfriend is home we let him come out to roam a bit. His entire spine and rib cage are almost completely shed now.. the shed skin is barely hanging on. Is this ok? Should I be worried? Is it because he is very young? Should I always expect a shedding to be so rapid?

Im afraid there is no set rate. often it is rapid, but not always.
young ones will tend to shed full body and quickly. Older chams may shed only parts at a time .

having some Shed skin hanging off is not a concern - it will eventually fall off fully or get rubbed off. the only thing to watch for is dead skin that does not come off and is potentially hampering circulation (ring around tail or toe)

Thank you sandrachameleon! I will be sure to look for any shed skin that may cut off circulation, though at this rate I'm sure by morning he will be rid of all of it. I also did not know that adults did not shed full body.. that is very interesting and will prove valuable information for the future!
