Shedding

usually they will start to look washed out, almost grey. they will get real agitated about you even looking at them..... you will go to school or work... and come home... boom, brightly colored chameleon... so fresh and so clean, clean.

I always find bits and pieces... it's almostnever all one big clump. I don't recall seeing a chameleon easy is own shed... that's not saying it won't or don't happen, probably fairly rare.

My veiled just got done shedding for the second time since I got him. Seems like they shed every 3 months and it takes 4-5 days for it all to come off. He just wants to be alone and isn't very friendly during this period. When he's done the colors are very vivid and he goes back to himself.
